na its Jamaican weed. my friend brought it back from Jamaica. and it smelt really strong and good but after we added the water now it smells like ammonia

i didn't my cousin did he thought that it was going to be good to moisturize it to put droplets of water in it. but last time we stuck it in the microwave to dry it out and it work but this time it smells like ammonia. is that safe to smoke?
