Maybe "heat lamp" was the wrong term to use. It's a metal lamp that has a 120 watt light bulb in it. It's hanging down over the plant, which keep in mind, is still in it's first couple days of growth. But it's probably hanging about 2 feet above the plant. Maybe I'm using the wrong type of light...
