This is a page too late, but i wrote on a thread about these new SunPulse bulbs that are meant for the last week. They are 10K UVA and UVB bulbs. Im using one right now, its a strong UV lamp. Look under a thread about MH and resin production if you want to read more, or lemme know.

a quick update. I was poking around in the room tonight and damn! my eyes are burning right now. That light is 10k and intense, i really should be wearing shades in there with this bulb. But the buds are very crystally. They have a few mores days so we shall see.

ya the bulbs im using are the pulse start metal halides.

Can i ask what the size of your space is...and how many plants you have in the space? Oh, and is this your first grow under the 400w, if not, what was your total yield last time? thanks - yota

I live in Cali in a very free city that many people grow medicinally in. Like myself. So instead of just denying the fact that people are growing, they actually selectively help people. imagine that.

I don't have Gene or resin production problems. But can you argue if you were to triple the amount of crystals on your bud. Tried and true methods are great, but u cant ignore new technology. (well u can if you want i guess, im choosing not to)

From my experience you can take some clones from them just a few weeks in and revert them back to Veg, but its not the ideal situation. Taking clones from vegging plants and making a small clone chamber is the way to go

i found out today that the bulbs have UVA and UVB in them. Even there HPS and MH bulbs have some small amounts of UVA and UVB. Thats what makes their bulbs different.

ya i checked it out. I have a 600w one. I know its more common to hear UVB, but according to this site, they use UVA. So the bulb was introduced last night and ill keep you posted over the next week. i didnt really understand your link, do they sell UV bulbs?

in terms of quality and yield? like the above poster said. Using both will get you the highest quality and yield. That said, some people use HPS throughout but the results are not as good. Simple solution to a first time grower is to get a switchable ballast that u can use both MH and HPS bulbs...

I agree. My first grow was so good, everything went right. The more i learned, the more adjustments and things i changed. You complicate things by adding stuff with the goal of getting more more more! and better quality! I do enjoy making it more of a science but i get what your saying.

PS: Botrytis is very bad, Powdery mildew is very mangeable
