    Done?

trichomes on the sugar leaves tend to mature much earlier than the trichomes on the flowers. they should be ignored for the purposes of determining ripeness. in fact, I don't look at trichomes at all anymore.

What Umol or PPFD do you run in mid to late flower?

I typically top out at 850 or so during peak flower. Without CO2 supplementation I start to have issues over that number with the strains I run.

    First Grow... Ready To Harvest?

while it is indeed possible to let a plant flower too long, the plant in the most recent pics are not done. not at all.

In-line Fans and humidity control! Is a dehumidifier needed?!?!?for drying

It all depends on the rH of the air you're pulling into the space.

How far ahead do you plan your grows?

I only grow for personal use, and I have plenty of seeds, so I just try to time it so that I get a new harvest when my jars start to run out. I already have the equipment and nutrients to last me years. The tent I flower in is a 3x3 (sometimes 2x2 if I'm testing something new) so I typically...

Struggling to get jars below 74% humidity

stem snapping is a terrible metric for determining if drying is done. first off, some people hang whole plants and dry trim. some people break everything down small and wet trim. also, what stem is being referred to? the main stem of each cola? the tiny stems that attach individual buds to the...

Struggling to get jars below 74% humidity

This thread got really dark. I need a safe space.

Struggling to get jars below 74% humidity

I know folks that dry at lower than average Temps that hang for a month or more. there is no 'correct" amount of time to hang plants. they hang until they are done.

Struggling to get jars below 74% humidity

As stated above, that weed shouldn't even be in a jar if they're reading 72%. 72% + jars = mold.

Why does it feel good to fight with people on the internet?

the internet has provided everyone a level of connectedness and visibility previously unavailable to all but the rich, the famous, and the powerful. Nothing in our millions of years of evolution or our thousands of years of social progress has prepared us for it. Now every human, genius or...

    Silica

Always add it first. I would typically add it and go do something else for little while to give it time to stabilize. Then I'd adjust pH, add the rest of the nutrients, check and adjust pH again, feed.

    Silica

I saw noticeable benefits when I used Si in hydro, in fact I stopped using it because the strain I was running at the time became almost untrainable with the addition of Si. The branches got so thick and rigid so quickly that LST became a scary process. Not sure if all strains would react to it...

    Keif

that sounds awful. you can get a decent sized little screen for next to nothing. why would you torture yourself sifting with a grinder? also, most grinders I've worked with don't have a fine enough screen to get dry sift of the quality you'd want for hash making.

    Thoughts...

there are far, far too many variables to predict yield regardless of how specific one is about their setup. Genetics, grower skill, environment, etc.. the best you can hope for is that somebody on here has run a setup extremely similar to yours who can share how it went for them. trying to...

    Whats your holy grail??

that's awesome! the more folks that get their hands one it the better chance of keeping a wonderful legacy strain in circulation!

    Whats your holy grail??

possibly. not just talking about #5 though. Greg provided Todd with more than one line. I have some NL #2 one the way.

    Whats your holy grail??

the only place I know right now that has (what I believe to be) the real deal Northern Lights. check out Authentic Genetics Seed Co. Todd got the Genetics directly from Seattle Greg.

Which of the three looks better?

Flower density is primarily determined by genetics and the presence of adequate light. For newer indoor growers the most common cause I see for airy buds is too little light or poor feeding/watering practices resulting in unhealthy plants. You absolutely can grow buds as good or better than the...
