cutting off nutrients to the plant and giving only water does not remove anything from the flowers. quite the opposite. once you stop fertigating the plant will begin to pull nutrients from the leaves and use to continue to keep itself alive and reproductively viable.
on top of that, there is...
need more info to help. what is the medium it's in? what and how much are you feeding it? what kind of light is it under? what is the temperature and humidity?
I've been growing for over 2 decades now and I run almost exclusively indicas. I've only seen a tiny handful of strains that are actually done in under 10 weeks. most of the '8-9' weeks nonsense came from seed bank propaganda and black market growers pushing shit out early to maximize profit.
You will be slowing the plant down by removing it from the intensity of the grow light/s in your tent. There is no escaping that fact. If the photos are in the vegetative stage then there is a decent chance the worst thing you will experience is slowed growth and possibly some unwanted stretch...
check for the beginning of seeds. last time I had pistils turn that early it was because another plant threw some male flowers and pollinated her. it could be a lot of other things, but doesn't hurt to check.
My HLG QBs will probably stay in my tents until they die, but if I had the extra space and time I might run my CLW Solar Storm 440 for old times sake. it may be blurple and inefficient, but it fucking rocked my 3x3 back in the day.
I try to push all my plants (I only grow indica and indica leaning hybrids) to 10 or 11 weeks. I have run my Orkle (Urkle x Tahoe OG) out to 12 weeks before and did not like the difference. It lost a lot of the taste and smell I love so much and it was not as potent.
I am definitely pissed on your behalf. I love my cannabis plants and growing plants in general is one of the biggest sources of joy in my life. If someone I trusted did this to my plants I'd be irate. shows a total lack of consideration and respect.
for me, the skunk #1 I got my hands on in the late 80s is the prototypical weed taste/smell. there were strains I liked more even back then, but nothing was as loud and funky.
This is why I've switched to exclusively pormix hp. I love soil, but I've had nothing but problems with inconsistent pH the last several times I've used it. Particularly with FF.
My ideal target when drying is around 70 degrees and 55 to 60% humidity. No direct air blowing on the buds, but air circulation is a good thing to prevent little microclimates from forming .
Under standard HPS optimal Temps within the grow space is mid to high 70s and under modern LED that optimal temp range goes up in to the lower to mid 80s. You are slowing down growth by keeping the space that cool.
