They really aren't that bad if you buy the kits and put them together yourself. At least compared to their plug and play lights. But probably still more than the knockoffs. How big of a space are you trying to light?

If heat is a big concern you can mount the drivers outside the tent with the HLG lights that have been suggested by others. The boards themselves obviously still put out some heat, but removing the drivers from the tent knocks ambient air temps down by several degrees.

I love soil when it works, but when there are problems it really makes me wanna go back to hydro sometimes. I know hydro has it's own set of challenges, but I love the ability to make changes and have them take effect almost instantly and the ability to reset everything with a simple res change.
