Here is the PC I use, its a 16qt Presto Canner...lets just say it gets the job done..lol The tray at the bottom keeps the jars from gettin too hot and cracking.

If you put 2 strains in a jar, 1 will take over the other...resulting in just 1 strain. Btw, just started a new grow log...check it out when you get a chance

here is what they look like tonight..no pins yet, but hyphal knots forming everywhere! Thats what you see before pins. There should be pins tomorrow night for sure.

I like this brand of seed, because it has a few diff types of large seeds which means more moisture, and nutes to live on. When mushrooms are growing, they contain 90% water! So a 10g fresh mushroom will weigh 1g when dry. Which means the more water your substrate can hold...the better.

I am going to be growing 2 diff strains, Penis Envy(VERRY POTENT) and John Allen strain. I am going to be growing in wild bird seed(WBS) and verm. Here is a pic of the syringes.... Now I am going to take my wbs and put it in a large container and fill with water and sift out all of the floaters...

I do it 1 jar at a time...take a jar and fill it 3/4 full of wbs.(just for measurement)..now get you a bowl and dump the wbs in it and mix the verm in the bowl...now just put back in the jar...repeat till all your jars are done.

When using rye, you have to use calcium(crushed oyster shells) and it sucks beating the shells to dust with a hammer...lol I had to get the rye at a co-op, and the oyster shells at a farm supply co. Its just way too much trouble!! WBS has all the nutes mushrooms neet to grow! Why grow with...
