They don't make 600w cmh. Most magnetic ballasts will work with the cmh, you don't need a special one. You might not yield even as much as a 400w hps. Cmh makes more trichs.

Im going to have to agree with the op on this one. If this is your first grow, I wouldn't count on 8oz per plant just cuz a friend with the same setup gets 8oz a plant.

Get a shop vac and blow the smoke in it every time you take a hit. Put dryer sheets around the filter on the vac.
