Not sure how it matters, but I did post some pictures already: The point is not whether you can grow a plant under a lamp. Just about any lamp will do for that. What's important is if the lamp is actually "better" than others in doing so.

The only reason to change the height of the fixture is to adjust the uniformity of the light spread out over your grow. So yes a lux meter will do just fine for that. You don't even need to convert to PAR values. Just make sure that the darkest regions get around 80% of the average light...

I get the best results with led strips. Led strips enable you to distribute the light in the most uniform way over the canopy. Very easy to turn led strips into a fixture too. Just attach then to a aluminium extrusion, connect the extrusions and wire it up.

Exactly. It's time people stop using reflectors. Very unfortunate how a few misinterpreted test results from years ago still have such an adverse impact on led lights to this day.
