I doubt it will kill them they'll just take alittle longer to recover is all,Reason being the change in soil plus being dug up has most likely stressed them out and sent them into shock. Been there Done that ;) P.S. the Plant in my Avatar was put into shock the same way when I transfered them...

I'm sure you'll get much better answers but it could be due to the stress of A. being dug up. B.Man handled ya'll didn't physically touch the roots did you??? and C. if the soil on your property is different than the soil they came from that too could stress them and put them into shock
