    Custom DIY LED panel help

Sorry I didn't mention it in my post earlier Dragger, but the new heatsink I will be using is a finned heatsink. Measures 8.5" x 12" and has tons of aluminum fins. I decided against the cookie sheet even though they tolerate heat very well ;) And riddleme, I have seen the circuit diagrams...

    Custom DIY LED panel help

Like I've said in my previous post, this is my newest design for my high power LED panel. I will be using the Luxeon Tri-star Rebels. There are 3 diodes per star, and I will be using a total of 12 stars. 36 total die. Each die puts out roughly 2.4-2.5w. Here's the math: 3.6v(reds) x 700mA(.7) =...

    Custom DIY LED panel help

Wow I didn't expect so much to pop up in such a little time since I last checked :P First off, riddleme I'm graced by your presence in my thread ;) I can totally see what you mean by lots of bad info, this is definitely a learning process and a work in progress. I will agree that I have...

    Custom DIY LED panel help

Just an update for those following, I have decided against using LedEngin LEDs because they vary too much in forward voltage. I have found some Luxeon Stars that I can get 4 wavelengths and I will only have 2 forward voltages. From the looks of it I'll need 2 power supplies and 2 drivers. But...

    700w LED 5BAND TRI-SPECTRUM

Oh no it's quite alright. :) I'm used to people hatin on my setup, it's ok ;) I totally understand wanting to go with the tried and true methods. Especially if you're growing for medical patients. Then it's more about making good quality and having quantity too. LEDs and CFLs do produce nice...

    Custom DIY LED panel help

It's all good, there's always another one out there waiting to be found :) I got a question for ya, if I have a power supply that will drive 6 LEDs at 700mA, can I put 2 different colors of LEDs on that series if they have the same forward voltage? Thanks, -crunk

I need help wiring bathroom fan

I don't think it matters to be honest. Now don't quote me on this but I believe if you hook up a fan backwards it just blows backwards. I haven't tried it though so I can't be positive.

will i need a carbon filter for 2 plants in a stealth grow?

You will ALWAYS need a filter for a stealth grow, no ands ifs or buts. If you're trying to keep it stealth, no light leaks and definitely no smell!!! Hope this helps. -crunk

    G-Force LED closet grow

I think my best advice for you smokeyjoes is that everything you need to know is either one of 2 places. Your plants themselves, and google. I say plants first because they really will tell you what's wrong if you treat them like babies haha You can tell just by how the leaves are how much...

    G-Force LED closet grow

I don't doubt you will get what you desire as long as you get more power in there :P One thing you may want to try is scrogging, there are plenty of articles about it on here but basically it's putting a net over the tops of your plant and weaving them through it to create one little canopy of...

Ahh that's good you got the red spectrum CFL. If I were you I would leave on the LEDs during flowering. From what I hear it's more potent than CFL/HPS/MH etc etc. Maybe due to correct spectrum?? I really can't comment on this though since I've only grown from CFL and it was superb to the stuff...

    700w LED 5BAND TRI-SPECTRUM

Hey axjnkee, do you know what kind of diodes they're using in their UFOs? Just curious is all ;) And if you're looking to upgrade your LED array, I would try here or here They appear to be the best 'bang for your buck' at the moment. And they're both here in the USA :) And were you referring...

    Custom DIY LED panel help

Just FYI, it may be a while..had a good job lined up and then they filled my spot so I'm in a bit of a 'pickle' when it comes to the finances right now >.< But as soon as I can gather up the money I'll be trying this out for sure! If you've got any questions feel free to let me know ;)

    G-Force LED closet grow

Looking good to me :) I think eventually you'll need more light regardless, but at this stage it's lookin perfect for em!! Are those lights similar to the light found here? If so, those are about 12w. If it's got 168 5mm LEDs in it I wouldn't recommend using just those for flowering, not gonna...

Hey did you ever happen to create that LED hexagon? I'm starting to look a lot more into the LedEngin LZ1 series 5 watt, and just wanted to see if you had somethin goin with that LED tube or not :)

    Crunky's CFL/LED Scrog!

4/22 Update - Day #17 A couple of things I didn't mention before that I'd like to mention...these are both bagseed. I guess I got lucky to get one indica and one sativa from the same strain, but it seems very robust and you can stress them a quite a bit and they don't hermie on ya so I'm...
