Curing allows the buds to dry evenly and when all the excess and unnecessary moisture is removed it allows thc to reach its most psychoactive potential as well as smoking smoothley. Proper curing ensures buds are completley dry and far less susceptible to mold when stored.

I say good luck your grow your rules. Personally though I would worry about inviting some disese or deficiency to the plant. Maybe as a precaution to that maybe put some kind of cloning gel around the piercing site to seal it. Food for thought. Peace and happy farming;-)
