i can definitely put my hand on the glass and the hood and leave it there for however long.. it's hot but not so hot i can't handle it.. anyway gonna buy an inline just to be safe i guess..

probably would help to mention there is a glass on bottom of reflector, and a 160cfm fan on other end of light blowing the heat into ducting
