if i leave it in budding mode how much taller will my plant grow?

so this is my first time growing a plant and i accidently started rightaway with a 12-12 lighting setup.... it is now 4 weeks old...seing as its been in "budding" mode since the beggining is it too late to switch to 18-6 to allow it to grow larger befor it budds?

so im growing one plant in my closet just to see if i can really pull it off befor i buy serious set ups. i have it under 1 flourescent light bulb and mistakingly started the budding process right away.... will the plant grow fine or should i switch to 18-6 light
