bit of a newbie question,but how bad is it if you mess with the light cycle? stunt the growth lots and what not?

<21/4> when i checked the plant this morning it had perked up back to normal so im guessing that the problem was over watering. went out and got another light and an electric timer today. with the new light the box is at around 24*c (75*F) with the fans off. so im hoping growth will pick up...

any one know if all the negative ions effect the plant in any way?

20/4 Update: plants looking kind of droopy atm, hope its not enough water (easy problem to fix) but the soil still looks kinda damp? -e- borrowed a thermometer and it shows that the box with the fans off is 22.5*c. I had the fans on lastnight so temp was around 18/19*c could this of made...
