tap water is supposed to be regulated at neutral or ph 7.0 to protect the pipes from corroding if the water becomes too acidic. the problem is, our water is chemically set to ph 7.0 with lime. rain water tends to be acidic and is great for plants. don't know what the ph is but it did test...
