Thanks for the replies, well most of them expect the one about shoving shit in my ass... lol. I'm trying to avoid glass jars if possible. It would still be quite a bit gallon size jars. There's gotta be a better way.
You need to get them accustom to the great outdoors. Indoors they are protected from the full power of the sun. You need to slowly expose themto sun . Me personally, I just put mine out and have never had an issue.
I topped mine at the fith node back to the 3rd node. You could also wait till they get a little bigger if you really want to. i've just cut the top off as well. End result looked the same to me.
depends on what exactly you are growing. Some strains can run into november. I try to stick w/ strains that finish in sept/early october . I'm also on the north east.
Here's the soil recipe i use for outdoor. i make it up in advance then take it in.
6 parts peat moss(can get at home depot foe 10 bucks for 3 CF)
4 parts compost or worm castings
1 part vercumlite
1 cup of lime
1/8 to 1/4 cup of azomite
mix it up and your ready to go. Simple yet effective.
Autoflowers are gonna have a different feeding schedule since they are autos. There's plenty of info here on how to take care of autos. For non-auto flowering types, you could use espoma. They have a line of organic ferts that you can do 1x a month. I'm in the same boat as you. i cant visit each...
Grew it last yr. If you ask me, nothing special. Smoke was good, but it didnt have any taste to it at all. I know kinda wierd right? grew it outdoors. Got to about 6ft or so. Looked pretty similar to Kiwiskunk's pics.
I love growing peppers. Planning on about 7-10 different varieties this year. Check out tomatogrowers.com They have a huge selection of pepper and tomato seeds.
