Yes, for me, I try to stay between 27 and 29 degrees celsius, and do follow temperature more than humidity so sometimes my vpd can be a bit high, and out of the recommended range, but I always have vpd in the back of mind when adjusting humidity to my corresponding temperature for proper vpd...

As long as you have good air movement (oscillating fans), and good air exchange (inline exhaust fan), and keep your plants from becoming too dense to prevent that airflow, you should be able to chase VPD without running into mold issues too.
