    CSI humboldt thread

Yea only one seed, I wanted to try a few strains to get a feel for my new spot. Wish I had done more to compare phenos. I'll probably pop 3 next year and go for a few of Caleb's other GSC crosses. It's definitely got some Durban lankiness in its structure with Zkittlez-like smaller fan leaves...

First grow, is it harvest time? Small nugs

Yea that looks like he gave you moldy weed

    CSI humboldt thread

If any other outdoor growers battle budrot like I do, I highly recommend GSC x Zkittlez from CSI. I know it's two hype strains crossed, but it's standing out like a champ. I've ran 4 other of CSI's strains this year and they're all showing early budrot while this one has given me no problems...

Powdery Mildew? If so, is the entire plant gone? Can I cook with it?

That looks like both budrot and mildew. I'd cut out all the brown stuff and then dip it all into a h202 bath to kill the spores. Looks pretty gnarly. I grow for my wife and my friends, and don't want them smoking something that could harm them. Cannabutter is fine if you're on the fence.

    Sirtalis' California Organic Outdoor 2021

Did some heavy defoliation on the Zkittlez x T1000 and Secret Service (two in the back). I've had to clip about 4 nugs total because of budrot. Going to inspect / clip mold daily and hopefully get an oz of finished bud off each, maybe more if I'm lucky. They're really great strains but just...

First grow, is it harvest time? Small nugs

That's a tough one, I'd personally chop and get some unripe bud compared to losing 90% to budrot. It's going to spread very quick with that sort of weather. It's a lot easier said than done though to chop early. Super painful. Maybe do an experiment and leave half, compare results to see if...

    Bud rot? Location Toronto

Same, actually the worst year of fog I've seen in SF since I moved here 10 yrs ago. Even a pine tree in my back yard got covered in sooty mold, I've never seen that. Learned a boatload about botrytis though, and if you get a wreck of a season like this you'll never slack on preventatives from...

    Sirtalis' California Organic Outdoor 2021

The structure of GSC x Zkittlez looks like it's handling my humid back yard much better. Will be going with these types of strains with small nugs from here on out.

    Sirtalis' California Organic Outdoor 2021

Spotting a dead sugar leaf is like seeing just the tip of an iceburg. Before opening up the bud... After opening up the bud...looks like I'm never growing an indica in my back yard again :wall:

    4 more weeks?

Unfortunately I didn't. When I see mold I go straight for the chop and forget to take pics. Thanks, wish I could grow these out in a better environment.

    Heavy Rainfall Protection

I'd also try to get a fan on them asap after the rain passes.

    Sirtalis' California Organic Outdoor 2021

I haven't tried. Do you think it's worth it? I figured it would just stunt the plants but maybe that's better than a bunch of budrot.

    Sirtalis' California Organic Outdoor 2021

Things are heating up. Found a little budrot already on the Secret Service which is a bummer. Right on a cola where I picked off some caterpillar poop a few weeks ago, must have missed some droppings.

    2021 Massachusetts Outdoor Growers

Mind telling me your budrot procedure when it's discovered? Just curious on when to lop the entire branch or when to do surgery.

    trichome photos

When you see sugar leaves turn brown for no apparent reason, it's bud rot. Pull the leaf out and you'll see the white / gray fuzz that is mold. At first glance it can be hard to tell the difference between mold and trichomes, but eventually it becomes second nature. Rot starts from the inside...

    Nor Cal backyard grow

I'm pretty much already done with nutes and going to let my plants use up their stored energy. But yea if you want to keep things green, switching to water only in a few weeks could be the move. I know some people feed until the end.
