    Hoods, bulbs & yeild

I've never been into led tbh. N After doing more research I'm "told" that yes the hortilux bulbs put out more blue light than most others but fairly equals amount of red. I was told not to expect much change between hortilux and plantmax in terms of yeild with brand new bulbs. But It would...

    Hoods, bulbs & yeild

I've been growing for several years now. I've done dwc, aero, flood and drain, soil and Coco. I'm currently using Coco on drip irrigation. I use a burner and minisplit. Gh 3 part, Bennie's, open wings and plantmax bulbs. Now i do ok. I average 20oz per light. The more plants the better. But Ive...

    Small leak during/after minisplit setup

If i felt it was a significant amount of gas or pressure it would definitely bother me. Also I probably would if I had the tank and knew the exact procedure. I'll be able to tell fairly quickly if something's not right... I know how many lights I should be able to cool depending on the...

    Small leak during/after minisplit setup

I will go through and explain everything I did but pretty much I'm just looking for some reassurance that im ok... I installed several minisplits. First two went smooth n operate great. Last one however was different. I vacuumed to 500 microns, held for 5 mins or so, packed it up and released...

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

That's where I was confused. Either I ground it the usual way and only use s1. Or I ground to screws on both ends and use S1 & S2. Not sure. There were no installation directions, well they were but there very vague. Inside there's also an X, Y & E. I am assuming those terminals are for...

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

Sort of.... I never heard of that to be honest. I do know if you run an extensive length of wire you'll get a voltage drop.

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

But the holes are for 1/2 conduit. Kinda hard to get #6-uf thru that plus the other wire so I "reamed" out the hole for 3/4" conduit. Looks and fits perfect. Almost done with them. Only thing I did do wrong is anchor without drain. Oops! Gotta fix em lol. Smfh.... Also there's only 4 wires in...

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

I found an HVAC guy who'll do them all for $300. Minus well let him do it. God bless Craigslist.... Also it said precharged and prevaccummed and preflared. But what they meant was that the evap was vaccuumed prior to shipping. When I took off the plastic nuts air began to leak and I began to...

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

I was told it doesn't matter if your vacuum pump is 2.5 or 9 cfh. Just get the line down to 500 microns....? Yes it's a 410/134 pump. But the pump has nothing to do with refrigerant. You release that after it's vacuumed to my understanding

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

It's all 240v. Makes no sense to me but i called manfacturer. They weren't able to give me answers in detail they just said to hook up a number 6 wire to L1 L2. So.... That's what I'm going to do lol... N yes, I'm going to vacuum pump it myself. I got everything for $140 or do. Hvac guy wanted...

    American Pacific breakers bad?

Ya but I would like to just buy the newer safe aftermarket breaker for now, then in winter I can upgrade the box, when it's cooler and I don't exactly need to run that unit, or even in between runs. But I totally agree. Few hundred bucks is worth the piece of mind. Also I've considered...

    Minisplit install help, quick question.

Let me begin by saying I may not be an HVAC tech but I have my BSME and am fully qualified. But this install doesn't make sense from what I was taught. Also I've always done all my own work. Over a dozens light controllers. I can read P&ID and so on.... I'm qualified lol Now my snag...

    American Pacific breakers bad?

I have 1 (100 amp) box and 2 (200 amp) boxes at this time. The 200s are newer ge or seimens except for thst one 100amp. It's an American Pacific my electrician said. He said that the company went out of business and there known for fires. The old breakers are the cause. Now, I'm putting just...

    Minisplit outside in Michigan winters

I just got the crank case heater and another feature which will allow operation to -5° it says... I'm putting them up on cinder blocks. With 8' fence around it. Now i ended up getting 3. I paid almost $7500. The freight company just dropped them off. I was so pissed. I didn't get a phone...

    Minisplit install

The evap comes prevaccummed and the outdoor unit comes precharged or vice versa and the lineset comes preflared.... I was just gonna give my buddy a big nug to leak test it just to be safe. Also he's going to give me a receipt from his business so my warranty won't be void. Can't wait

    Minisplit install

Lucky it's pre vaccuumed, precharged and preflared. Now i did consider a mounting bracket kit and just putting it 10' up in the air or so. But what benefits does that have?
