They seem to be growing fine, but this extreme yellow on new growth has me wondering. It's been this way a couple weeks and they eventually grow out of the yellow. Took pics right after seaweed foliar. Night temps are 50 F so it could be from the cold?

I wouldn't rule out fungus just yet. Do your roses also get these spots? Septoria transfers really easily from roses.

Or plant those 10 seeds in the no-till pot and see which survive. Ask him to cull if multiple survive.

I'd start like 10 seeds in 1 gallon pots right now. They will take 5 days to sprout, and he will likely kill 9 within a month. Have him transfer the 1 survivor to the no-till pot when it's a foot tall. The reality is newbies mess up watering. And he definitely will, especially in a giant...

10 gal. Don't worry, I've spent all day figuring it out, and my soil mixes def miss these ingredients. I get my compost local and they test it...shows low Fe, Zn, and Mg. Can't hurt to have this on hand.
