    The Dons' Organic Garden

Regarding the ice... I'm an outdoor guy, think ice water would serve? I'd need a literal ton or more of ice for this, but a few blocks in a 500gal res overnight would put the water down pretty cold... I used to strip the mulch back and let the soil surface dry as a drought simulation (also to...

Questions about how many transplants necessary

Jumping 3 to 5 seems pretty pointless to me. I'd skip the threes, honestly.

Hey new to the site, I’m a larger scale grower

How many gallons is that? Looks about two, maybe three... I've never used one, but I've heard good things. Are they as aggressive as the atomist electric foggers? I've been worried they're even stronger blowers.

Hey new to the site, I’m a larger scale grower

I'm not surprised, considering your scenario. Those Hudson battery powered backpacks are not for plants of size, in my opinion. My shoulder would give out swinging that wand around so much just for one plant. I bet they work great for nurseries though.

Mold, premature bud, what to do?

I have extreme doubts about that. But I used to blow oil with this type of material anyway.

    Open Show & Tell 2018

I've seen a bunch of properties out here running greenhouses like yours, I wonder if they're all full of such glory...

Mold Smell, Please God, not mold.

It honestly looks like green of new growth...

...you tell me. They look fine from that angle.

Big question: Why are outdoor flowers devalued?

Long story short, there's the impression that indoor implies using a "perfect" environment. Once upon a time, people though UV degraded trichs (and it does) but didn't know that UV is useful to resin production, too, but that's pretty much out of the bag now. But because you can't control...

Mold Smell, Please God, not mold.

It's helpful during harvest, you can just flip a branch upside down and scan for it, but the effect doesn't stretch for much more than an inch from the leaf base at most. You'll know it when you see it, it's not a normal coloration, but you do have to really look. Typically, there's no saving...

Mold Smell, Please God, not mold.

If you've got an eye for it, the plant will throw pink tracers through the veins of the leaves in the affected area before it goes brown and soft.

Too late for bamboo supports in pots?

Being sticky and smelly are defense mechanisms themselves. I guess even bugs like to get high.

Organic no till, probiotic, knf, jadam, vermicomposting, soil mixes, sips etc... Q & A

Is the rice wash at all necessary for LABS? don't I get the same if I let milk spoil naturally? Milk should always favor lactose consumers. If the milk needs inocculation, you could just spit in it, right? Lacto is natural oral flora...

can I use local pine forest fungi as an inoculant?

AMF isn't the only beneficial fungus, it's just the most directly beneficial. I take a more embracing approach to fungi-- they're all beneficial unless shown otherwise, because they break down organic matter and minerals in the soil. They aren't necessarily trading that effort directly to the...

Manifolding (Menorah'n) Plants in a GreenHouse

I do the inverse-- everything that is a meager bud beneath the canopy goes away, and the fan leaves are unmolested. I've never been impressed by what those tiny buds turn into when given light. But I don't make extracts, so I just don't use them anyway.

    Never too late.

    help- should I pull?

I've seen bud worm damage go to rot, but I don't see that here. Those damn caterpillars leave angry brown damage zones, I only see mold here. If the weather is good, remove moldy bits and wait.

2018 the year of problems haha

Root aphids can look like a deficiency, but you seem ok at least. I picked up root aphids inside this year, made the leaves turn red.

how much are you paying trimmers?

In my area, it hasn't dropped much compared to price per unit. On average, it's $100-$150 a unit. It was the largest complaint last year, and one if the reasons I trimmed my own.
