imo this just means that they are drinking more then they are eating. more water is being used then nutrients so you ph drops because of a higher salt content

haze taste and smell is frankincense incence smell. another popular one was a subtle piney taste and had the smell of sandalwood and or sage. both would leave the room smelling heavy of frankincense / sage/ sandalwood.
