The flow of the water shouldn't be hampered so you do not want any filtering or blocking at that level.

The resin wasn't totally dry. Drying perfectly is the most difficult part of the process.

You just need to learn to read your resin and for that it is really important to hand press a few time to experience the change happening in the resin with all your senses so that it will be easier to use your eyes only when you press with a bottle of boiling water. If your resin was dried...

You could have press this beautiful resin a tad more. If you look closely you can see a light "sandiness" in the melted resin. That's the resin heads that have not been pressed correctly. You have to press 2-3 times minimum depending on the amount of resin pressed
