Yeah I use the Botanicare kind nutes these days. I basically run the "recipe for success" but with a different brand of nutes.
I have it written down somewhere buried in a thread... I'll see if I can dig it up
Been giving them 975ppfd with longer days for a few weeks. I think having dialed the time down should keep me safe - the DLI is pretty close - definitely gonna be watching for stress over the next couple days though.
Nope - same fixture. Independent dimming on Emersons and QB288s lets me fine tune pretty nicely - my goal was more to get <350w between the two - the spectrum being so close to the kiwi boards is just a happy little accident.
That said, I do really dig those boards - looking forward to OG's test.
Day 51. Water change last week corrected the pH swings, and keeping it above 6.0 has seemed to slow/stop the apparent Mg deficiency I was having. Few more weeks to go yet...
WOW. Am I reading that right? ~2200ppfd for 458w each pair? What's the draw to get 1000ppfd? 500ppfd? (If you don't mind doing a quick test...)
I really like how broad the boards themselves are - I always thought spreading the diodes out over as large an area as possible was the way to go.
Last day of week 7. Looking pretty good, certainly some swelling and densing up to come yet, though.
Bottom left of this pic you can see one of the spotty leaf tips I posted the other day. Overall they look pretty healthy, though.
70ish degrees
45% rh
Aside from testing what kind of light I can give, have kept the setting constant.
Too dry? I figured the back half of bloom should be in the 40-50% range
Hmmmm... some light spots showing up at the centers of some leaves this morning... Thoughts?
Could it be those leaves reacting to the trim the other day? Or some kind of deficiency or excess?
No significant changes post-trim this morning. The pH might be stabilizing now that the solution has been refreshed, but we'll need to give it a day or two to say for sure.
Hard to say whats evap & whats plants drinking. In the past 2ish weeks I've added somewhere around 18gals of water and/or solution, and have only *manually* removed 4 gallons of water - so 1 gal of water a day is about what's leaving the res.
Some is certainly plants drinking it
Some is...
I also tinkered with light intensity just a bit. I can achieve a ppfd of 1052 at the center for the bargain basement wattage of 350w. I'm sitting at a ppfd of 965 @ 325w for now, but when I drop that next 30mins off the day I'm gonna give them the full blast
