THE definitive Rosin Press parts thread

For instance, does one need caged plates for 3x3 plates? I don't need anything bigger than 3x3. Is round better than square?

THE definitive Rosin Press parts thread

As you imagine, please post your thoughts on optimal rosin presses for small, personal grows. Also, please post any links to good Rosin threads. Either rosin press parts or rosin pressing process information, or anything else related to rosin. I like the idea of round plates, but can't...

    Biochar

Whenever working with biochar, rice hulls, pumice, bone meal, etc, remember to wear some sort of respirator or breathing protection! I use the disposable ones much longer than I should. Someday I'll invest in better ones. But for now, try mixing up a big batch of aeration, specifically...

Water or Amendments, what to do next

Absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about, man! You seem to have transitioned well from last grow to this one. The initial changes I would have recommended: a tent, carbon filter, water proof lining, maybe some stands and saucers (personal preference), you appear to have already implemented...

Feeding fresh juiced fruit and vegetables

I hope you're composting in some way. It sounds like you have some great inputs. Worms rock. I'd put all those things you're talking about into a worm bin. You could check into FPJ (fermented plant juice), but I'm not sure you'd end up using all your input. It could help, but would it...

    No-Till Setup Question?

Hey Gritzman. Welcome. The simple equation I've seen is the watering volume should equal 10% to 15% of the soil volume. I probably do closer to 10%, as I'm late in flower. There are a lot of variables. How much growth do you have? So, how large is the plant? If small, water a little...

Show me your worm bins and compost

I've used crabshell meal and alfalfa both to no evident negative outcome. I used it liberally, throwing a few handfuls of the alfalfa into each pot. It's also include in any compost tea, much of which is given to the worms.

Show me your worm bins and compost

Thank you for the reply! I started with the smallest order of both Red Wigglers and (I think) european nightcrawlers from uncle Jims. https://unclejimswormfarm.com/product/composting-worms/combo-compost-mix/ I started with a 15 or 20 gallon pot. After about a month, I added the next pot...

Show me your worm bins and compost

Sorry. I accidentally posted too early. Here's a few more. How do I know when to harvest? One of them is almost 3 months old. Thoughts?

Show me your worm bins and compost

I have been looking forward to this for a few days! Didn't have pics yet. So here goes. The following are my three worm bins. They are 15, 20 and 51, I think. I'm sure of the 51; it's the 3 ft junior smart pot. It's 50/50 mix of peat and coco, amended with compost tea left-overs...

    flushing w/organics....?

A few thoughts. First, maybe your friend over watered while you were away. Second, if you're trying to flush, maybe let things dry out pretty severely for a few times. To expand, following strict schedules can be challenging in organic grows, specifically as flower progresses. A flowering...

    Mulch indoors anyone?

Just my 2 cents concerning mulch: Many have touched on the relevant issues: preventing evaporation, preventing tunneling from poured water (for those watering from the top). Some types of mulch prevent bugs, but I tend to think, (respectfully), that living soil systems require that bug life...

    Worms

Second this. I got a mix of night crawlers (european?) and red wigglers from Uncle Jims. This was about four months ago. In that time, I started two more smart pots of worms, trying to harvest a good amount from older bins and putting them into newer bins. good luck.

    The Dons' Organic Garden

My 2 cents, and I don't mean to step on your toes Don, so please let me know where/if I'm off anywhere. About the weird growth, I wouldn't worry about it. Often, when cloning a flowering plant, I see non-typical growth for a period of time. It probably has something to do with the roots and...

    BEST ORGANIC YOUTUBE GUYS!

Joshua Steensland. Youtube banned the growtube roundtable. That was Crazy Dago's thing. He got booted for some asinine reason as part of the purge. I've never really found his content anywhere else. Which is tragic because the roundtable was an amazing source for knowledge. That was...
