AD on the 3000K and BB on the 5000K I would consider that, but I have two 3000K chips left over from my last build, and wanted to incorporate them in this.

    Veg Lamp design

I just ordered parts for my next build. Here's the layout. I'll be building this out of angle aluminum, and I might go all Growmau5 on it and make it look pretty, too. PARTS: (8) CXB3070 5000K (3) CXA3070 3000K (2) MW HLG-185-1050B (1) MW HLG-185-1400B (3) 100K Pots for dimming (11)...

    DIY COB LED Calculator

Just so I'm understanding this correctly - If I were to run 3 CXA3070 @ 1.4A, I would need 27in of 3.5 profile heat sink to run active cooling? I wanted to cut blocks of the heat sinks as opposed to bars, but that would mean I need to cut 9 inch sections per chip. Am I understanding this correctly?

COBs by string, or COBs by rail?

I'd have to go with rail, personally.

Questions for the DIY CXA COB experts

I wouldn't scoff at even a 7% difference even on a cheaper chip

HB's 2nd Run: COB LED + Kessil w/ Grape Stomper OG

Oh - I've also bumped from 12/12 for 7 days, to 13/11 to now, I'm at 14/10. I'm using a 730nm flood to induce the sleep cycle, hoping to take advantage of a couple extra hours of light to make up for lacking coverage and saturation.

Help me build a large CXA3070 Rig

I did finish a couple of bars that are in the room with my sig. This is my second run, and finances were tight. I had someone offering to back and give me space, but it's turned into a wait and see, a bit. Construction has barely gotten off the ground. I want to build a couple more bars to add...

Help me build a large CXA3070 Rig

I'm trying to be realistic. Even if I get 80-90% of the yield on 30% less power and way less heat with a better tuned spectrum, I'm THRILLED.

Help me build a large CXA3070 Rig

I feel you guys. Honestly, the CXAs at 1.05mA is a really nice spot, imo. They are still good enough to pay for themselves in a year, and I don't know about you guys, but I don't have any plans on quitting any time soon. They're worth it, and it's nice to be at the cutting edge on something again!

Help me build a large CXA3070 Rig

Will depend on price. I'd be all over CXB if it caused it's price to dip to around $30 a chip. Cost vs. performance ratio analysis

Help me build a large CXA3070 Rig

It's nice going into the build, having a great idea of what I need, per sq/ft though. Now it's a matter of seeing what the available floorplan will be.

Help me build a large CXA3070 Rig

Yeah, the space is still being allocated in a garage and isn't moving as quickly as I'd like. I've pretty much decided to do modular bars, or maybe a couple 4x4 fixtures. Some funding is going to have to come from this run to help pay for all the parts though. If I'm going to go with all...

The lab tech at 2:25 is IRON labs, I've known that guy for a while, one of my Phishing buddies. I'm going to give him a hard time over this
