Is it dirt or is it "soil"?. What kind of soil do you have outside?... Sandy?. Clay? Sandy Loam?. Is there enough organic matter in it?.. Most likely a bag of soil will perform better than what you have outside. Promix, Blackgold, etc.. Unless you're going to grow outside.

Yup, some people have compost tumblers.. no worms will get into that until you put them there.
