That looks nice, keep us posted on notable changes using these reds. I wonder if putting those reds on during veg would help also. I thought I read somewhere that the reds boosted someone's root production. Will you be running them on/off with the hlg600? Or put them on any schedule?

I think "Greanleafs" thread is gone. Unless someone started a new one.. I know they plan to have the sales on April 20. There was mentioned that was a good date as the outdoor growers would likely be stocking up at that time. Now to try to find the discount code... I heard that GLN is on the...

It's 3/4"x3/4" angled aluminum you see. THe heat sink sits in the L and buttressed for stability. I notched the edges on top for cross air flow, probably not necessary. With Slate 2 I believe the fins run the length rather than width ( as you see in my slate 6 ). You only need to drill 4 holes...

I cut 2' strips as pic, 3/4" angled. I am not sure of gauge but is solid. I even cut some of the aluminum off to help cross air flow ( still solid ). Use single heatsinks so you can customize spacing. I used a 515PV male plug off the driver and a 16 gauge extension cord to power source ( if...

Nice build @GreeneryBob . I have been hearing epsom salts is prefered over cal mag since the magnesium is what the plant lacks with lots of light these LED's provide. I recently have been using epsom salts as well. I have been doing a heaping Tablespoon ( 15-20 ml ) per 6 gal mix. How much do...

I think the QB288 w/slate 6 may be heavier than the QB Elite 96 w/sstx pictured. A Slate 2 would be lighter for sure. They do however stay pretty stable with fans blowing. Since I laterally hang my fixtures in the 4x8 tent ( drivers remote ) I can still reach in for maintenance. I don't bump my...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I have seen some nice builds on here which inspired be to build my own fixture. Early last year, I built a couple of 260 fixtures w/288's using 2 24" pieces of angled aluminum( pics a few pages back ). It seemed a simple solution to use the heat sink as the cross support. I recently built 2 96...

Canada gets screwed on this subject. I am constantly googling conversion being Canadian. I know how long 12" 24" etc is but have no idea in cm... Don't you love those tapes that so nicely have both metric and standard. When you decide to use metric but have to read from the standard side of the...

4 QB120/132 would be good too.I have seen some good builds here with those. No heat sink required. There great for the right application. You can customize your spacing.

It appears the 304 boards are not on the HLG site anymore. I thought the qb304 had lm561c chips only. However the 324 board w/heatsink is still on there site and has the LM301B chips ( v2 board in 3500K ). That looks like a great choice. Nice spectrum too. Out of stock though..

Here is a HLG 260 kit I built. 3/4" angled aluminum. The aluminum is 24" long, 2 QB288 v1 boards w/blue anodized slate 6 heatsinks. It is adjustable as you can see. I like single heatsinks as it allows more flexibility in design. I used a HLG 240H C2100a in series per fixture but there are...

Those specs l mentioned are for 115/120 V circuit, being a new user I forgot many country's don't use that Voltage. In Canada/US 220/240V are used for oven's, clothing dryer etc. 120V for standard plug. 230V Will draw less Amps Like .9A for the 185 and 2A for the 240. you should be OK. I...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Right now I am running 3 260 kits ( 2 qb 288 per hlg 240h c2100a in series per kit ) and a single qb288 ( w/burned out row which was promptly replaced by hlg lighting under warranty ) on a hlg 100 54a in center. It.s footprint was like 4x6. I just added the 4 96 elites on 4 hlg 185 54a to...

There is a thread here with info on par readings on hlg240h 54a. Or Gro has put some time into some mapping in a 4x4 for a single 96 to 4 96's and even 6, I think. https://www.rollitup.org/t/qb96-elite-v2-w-sstx-heatsink-question.977654/page-18. Lots of info to read, go through the pages in you...

Would measuring the current between the driver and board be any different? I was using one of those cheap meters in the wall.

Here is what 2 Elites with 2 x hlg185h 54a ( I wire the 2 drivers to a single AC male plug ) with V and IO pots turned all the way up. THe meter shows 552 Watts at 4.5 Amps at the wall ( driver started getting hot ). I can adjust each 96 elite board but I have to disconnect the second light. I...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

When I was buying my drivers I was looking at the amp draw and watts rather more than the efficiency. I was pretty curious why the the hlg 240h 54a data sheet showed 4 amps at 115VAC and the hlg 185h 54a data sheet showed 2.1 amps at 115VAC. When I maxed out my hlg185h 54a on 1 qb96 elite...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

So when I look at the data sheet at a LPF 75 36 it shows 91.5 % efficiency but a draw of 1.4 A at 115 VAC. I look at the HLG 80H 36 data sheet which is 91% efficiency and the draw is .85A at 115 VAC. Why would the LPF 75 36 be more efficient when its pulling .55 amp more and is 5 watts lower..

    DIY with Quantum Boards

TEKNIK has a good point. I always read the "Data Sheets" to see what the amp draw is. HLG drivers are the most efficient. What you save now you may pay for later in power. Circuits are usually 15 amp but 12 amps is your ongoing max. Once you start counting all your amps from other lights fans...

Hi, I am new to RIU and this would be my first post. I have followed this thread since oct 2017 and covered all pages/followed along. I was in the market for something new as my Gavita 750e was in need for a bulb and hood. i knew the LED technology was coming a long way, so my first purchase was...
