How to grow HARD hitting weed?

5ft height should be plenty for most Indica strains.. I wouldn't go sativa though. Since you're trying to be frugal, i was going to recommend an HPS, but your low height doesn't help. And those things are ovens pretty much. Almost anything is an upgrade from CFL's even the old red+blue leds...

How to grow HARD hitting weed?

2 strong factors for weak weed: Weak Lights = Weak Grow (there's a reason why growers spend big money on good lights. Growing with CFL's is a waste) Also, Bad Genetics... Idk anything about your seeds, but if you had good genetics those lights weren't going to bring out its potential. On the...

    Leaves curling upwards

Looks like light stress to me (toasty leaves curling upwards), are they too close the lights? I've seen the same symptoms in plants getting within 6 inches of LEDs. I'd only worry about bud rot if your humidity is constantly over 65%

    3rd grow! What's people think? :), bubblegum xl, fruit spirit,ice,White widow,critical

Looking good! If you want to improve yield for the next grow (massively), try vegging them for 1 or 2 more weeks and put a scrog on them... There's a lot of empty space in your tent.

    ph won't stay down

Tap water has buffers in place to keep the PH high in order to keep the pipes from rusting. If you need a stronger PH Down solution, make your own using Phosphoric acid or another (safer) alternative.

    ph won't stay down

Lowering the PH and holding it stable are 2 different things. In a balanced system PH should remain relatively stable. Did you check for light leaks or places that could encourage bacterial growth such as stagnant spots? GH PH down is pretty much diluted phosphoric acid, by the way...

Two weeks from sprout not looking so hot

THis is the real reason! My first experiences with Coco led to results similar to yours. I washed my coco to remove "impurities" and "salt", but didn't soak it in cal-mag water ever. This led to months of yellow plants with curling leaves....

Did you clean that coco? It looks like salt stress from dirty coco imo...

    Bridgelux EB Gen 2 Thermals

At 24C ambient, i'm getting 64C (measured right at the chips) after being on for 1 hour without any airflow. I just put it inside a closet turned it on and let it run for an hour. Obviously the temperatures are much lower if there's airflow...

    Bridgelux EB Gen 2 Thermals

I have a few lights using each kind of strip, i run them naked at these currents: 280mm at 10W or 550 ma 560mm at 20W or 1050 ma 1120mm at 40W or 1000 ma I know they can go higher, but i like to keep it safe.

Flowering with anything other than 12/12. Does it work/help?

I think my next experiment will be trying 1 plant with 12/12 and another with 10/14 but with the same daily light integral values (~40mol)... Since none of the studies i've read on the subject have controlled for this variable

Flowering with anything other than 12/12. Does it work/help?

So i did some more reading and found some interesting stuff in a 2009 study: THE PROPAGATION, CHARACTERISATION AND OPTIMISATION OF CANNABIS SATIVA L AS A PHYTOPHARMACEUTICAL So a lower day length basically reduced yields by weight and by cannabinoid count... But it did improve how...

Flowering with anything other than 12/12. Does it work/help?

What if we increase PPFD to match the lost hours? Make it so the plants get the same amount of light per day regardless of the hours? Of course there would be a limit to this as eventually it'd just be too much light too quick... Any thoughts? Any difference from 12/12 at all?

Flowering with anything other than 12/12. Does it work/help?

All of these count: 10/14 6/6 11/13 or 13/11 730nm pucks far red (any other kind)? intermitent? Is there really any benefit to this other than some arbitrary/personal need? I'm interested in the subject but i've no space to try it out atm. I've heard anywhere from faster flowering times...
