I looked in my encyclopedia of gardening they look to be fine but as a newbie dont take it as gospel!

Well i decided to play it safe and bought a 400w ballast, with kids in house im not risking it cheers all for your input

ok sound cheers for advice . do you think a 600w hps bulb in a meter square by two meter high grow tent will be overkill ?

what would happen if this was done ? or would it just not ignite ?

i have been told by a local shop that is is safe to use a 600w ballast to run 400w hps ? is this correct? obviously im no sparky but it sounds a bit dodgy :shock:

well if nothing else comes from all this you have made my mind up weather to buy cfl or hps cheers very informative !

cheers, they got leggy when i had them under led lights i have now changed to hps this seems to have stopped the stretch i have it 6 inches from plant top is this correct ?
