I am using 5x 7g smart pots in a 40"x40" tent. I would recommend using the biggest pots you can fit. Also, I've read that going right into the final container results in quicker growth. Like you said, less stress on the plants.

Thanks for the positive words guys! My new Vero29 3000k setup is arriving today and I can't wait. The Mars II 900 purple light seems fine for vegging but I am just too excited to get these guys flowering under the proper spectrum.

Been trying to think of something to set my plants on so there's airflow underneath but I am having more trouble than I should be with coming up with the right setup...Each plant is in a 7g smart pot (cloth). The setup is an X shape. Individual stands or 1 stand for all 5 would be fine...

That is mostly what I saw except for the bottom corner area. Some not at all, some only an inches worth or so, some a little worse. I was actually impressed with the overall root growth but yeah, I think I needed more ventilation in addition to less watering.

So, I repotted today. I noticed that there was some discoloring at the bottom of my roots. Go figure. Nothing too terrible going off some pictures I've seen, just a tint of brownish. Obviously not good still but hopefully the rot doesn't spread? I probably should have asked about this...

Just a noobs opinion...go with LED over HPS. Not only do they seem to outperform (if you get the right setup) but the cost of ventilation equipment and electricity goes way down. Plus you only need to replace your LED cobs every...5 years I think? HPS bulbs are supposed to be replaced every 6...
