So heres the first mix.. I used 2.5 g's of decarbed oil melted it down then added the coconut oil which was about 2.8g's the consistency is right where i want it. The decarbed oil i used for this mix is a lot darker then my other batches that are coming up. Ill be getting gel caps later today...

I don't see why you couldn't use a different oil.. ill need to try a few different types of mixes to maybe get the right consistency.

I read somewhere that the soy lecithin homogenizes the bho oil and coconut oil. I guess it also enhances the effects of the oil by making it easier to absorb into your system. Do you think putting it under vac would also help stabilize the consistency of the final product? I want it to look...

hope this doesn't happen to my decarbed oil. you said you used alcohol with the bho? maybe the alcohol got absorbed or evaped if they were in a warm spot. The oil i have is rather thick. at room temp its like shatter. I'm hoping with the coconut oil and soy lecithin will change the consistency...

I agree that the larger solvent tanks probably should be in a explosion proof freezer. Just in case any seals start to fail or contract due to the cold. The cans of butane... not that I'm suggesting this.. but i do store them in the fridge. Butane should be completely liquid and at almost 0psi...

what i did was fill a mason jar about 1/3 the way up. and dissolve the used filters after cutting them up, about 3 or 4 as a time shaking in the warmed jar. Added up to about 13gs of yellow clear winterized oil.. I'll post a picture if I can find it. It was a while ago..

Using nitrogen has crossed my mind.. Even helium. Haven't done a whole lot of research on these type of extractors.. I think in the near future I'm going to play around with the Flanges though.

If your worried about the residuals in a couple of filters that much... save them until you have a ziplock bag full.. and dissolve in 190 proof everclear to make winterized. I've done this before. But now that I'm doing much larger runs.. i see no point. On open loop i double up 2 unbleached...

My suggestion is if your planning on operating a closed loop system. Spend the time to research and how your system works, what your solvent will do in a given situation. This is especially important to make safe bho. Don't rush into a system without knowing 100% what to do. Thats how accidents...

You can add another can of butane, but be careful to not over fill the solvent tank. This is where a sight glass on the tank would come in handy, Or a scale to determine how much butane is in the tank. Contact the extractor company before filling it and ask how much they recommend filling the...

Hope your using flanges, this could be dangerous with triclamps. Heating your solvent in a sealed column to 207 degrees is kinda sketchy in my opinion.

heat = no bueno bro..I only burn terps off when I have to. (vac purge)

If your unable to vac purge I would at least winterize.. or even decarb the bho. Might taste a little funky but it will have much less residual solvent then your current method. PM me if you need help. Good luck
