    Is this a russet mite?

Alternate treatments in 3 day intervals, you can shop vac your plants to suck them up too, I've been told the bristle attachments work well. Some old school guys I know have submerged their plants in their tubs for a few minutes. You can gas them with co2 and trash bags but be extremely...

    Is this a russet mite?

Diatomaceous earth in the carpet and top dress your pots. Definitely treat for mites, use more than one product and rotate for at least 2 weeks if possible. Carpet in the grow room sucks ass. Think about getting a pond liner and stapling it along the walls, this will also help with spills, and...

    First grow

This is true to an extent, I find ffof does better with extra perlite added, it can also be kind of hot (nutrient heavy) for small plants. I tend to put about 1/3 the pot straight Ffof then the top 2/3 I mix a 1:1:1 of ffof, coco, and perlite. Also if you plant in straight ocean forest be wary...

I'm in the mood to abuse my plant

The only time I'd ever suggest it to a newbie would be if they had tons of huge fan leaves laying all over each other, and id definitely make sure to tell them less is more. I think there's a time and place for it, obvious mold and mildew issues being the only real reason. Maybe a little for...

Just started my first worm bin

Helps greatly actually. I'm using deep 18 gallon totes right now, but i think I might switch over to different containers sooner or later. I saw a few 3x2.5' bins at the store the other day and just didn't grab them yet. Those are only about a foot deep opposed to 2 feet. I'm also in some 6b so...

Too early for grow big by fox farm

I think this might be in thr wrong section, but anyways, if you're asking if it's too early the answer is yes. Your plant won't need food for *at least* a week or so from that point. And that depends on what kind of medium you transplanted into, if you planted in ocean forest or something...

Just started my first worm bin

Yeah that seems to be the case, everything read about it says extreme moderation, and that apparently mangoes and pineapples may contain enzymes that actually digest your worms instead of the other way around. I crushed up some eggshells into small bits but they're definitely not powdered...

Just started my first worm bin

Thanks, I haven't seen this site yet. Lots of good information it looks like.

Just started my first worm bin

What he's saying is pretty true actually. Worms don't actually eat the food scraps but the microbes that grow on them as they decompose. He's not starving them, wet newspaper grows plenty of bacteria and whatnot to sustain worms I would assume. So if he's feeding to grow bacteria/fungi and not...

Just started my first worm bin

For right now I'm just using a few black storage totes with bricks as spacers in my leachate bin, the puree doesn't soak too far down in your bedding? I thought you wanted the food to be pretty much all at the top?

Just started my first worm bin

Thanks for the tip on freezing. It makes a lot of sense since veggies that aren't blanched turn into mush when frozen. Good to know about the leachate, my front lawns gonna look nice next year for sure. I have an old bottle of superthrive from before I knew about aloe and coconut water I was...

Just started my first worm bin

So basically all of my knowledge of this comes from 2 articles and what I read on the unconventional farmer. Any tips or tricks that you guys care to share? Or are there some typical new guy mistakes I should be aware of? I've been trying to look into if feeding them a special diet will...

    Earthworms

Not a clue, I think I saw someone say they used them earlier in the thread. I would say strong synthetics would be an automatic no go, but weaker stuff (npk below or around 5ish) is probably alright. I do remember reading that ph matters for them though.

Can phone pics get u busted?!

Strip the exif data and the pictures could be from anywhere, to be honest big brother has bigger fish to fry right now. I wouldn't worry about it unless you think you're going to be in a situation where the police/feds are going to physically have your phone.

    Earthworms

Worms are fine in coco, pretty sure that's actually what's recommended on the unconventional farmer.

    H20 too damn alkaline

Honestly it seems like with all the humic/fulvic/chelation agents 5.5-8 is all the same on my end too. I grow in 30% coco/ricehulls/peat with about 10% compost added for some starter microbes and a bit of food since I'm pretty light on it during early veg. Not sure if all the aeration is why the...

    H20 too damn alkaline

Actually alkalinity is the waters ability to buffer ph due to the dissolved ions I'm pretty sure. But from your context I knew you meant your ph.

Don't know then, that was just my personal experience. I use dehumidifier water to water now lol

    H20 too damn alkaline

I had to let my old ro system run about 50 gallons through it before I used it. Brought my ph and ppm from ~7.5 and 225ppm to 6ish and <20 ppm. I think the first half a day or so run time is used to pack the filter elements down and rinse particulates, it was a lot more consistent after about a...

    Defoliation durring flower

I only trim large overlapping leaves, usually because of pm worries and for airflow. Better to trim put the little crap at the bottom then cut your canopy up too bad.
