Help getting startup costs down please.

Yo dude, I don't know all your American brands so can't comment on value for money too well, though for my 2 cents I'd say your quoted $400 start up budget is good, average amount and although there is loads more cost at beginning, you don't need to repeat alot of the initial costs on future...

    Trimming machines vs trimming wands

Lol! I just wish my harvests were big enough to join in this discussion! But for what's it worth, from my experience of working in automation parts supply, just putting a plant through spinning blades is bound to be shit - u'd need something with actuators to line up & move the bud accurately...

    Auto taking FOREVER to finish

I must admit I not done autos before (apart from 1 which refused to root & i ended up ditching!) but certainly from your pics I would say the plants are looking over-ripened, if anything. And from the little I do know about autos, 3 months is more than enough time for them to have been done...

    Can I grow with this?

Just gotta say what a great pic!! The plant looks gorgeous & u can well see the denseness of the lovely glittering crystalness - but I mainly love that u got all the cfl spiral reflections on the Mylar in the background! Looks cool! A true testament to the power of cfl's!

Curing, a myth perpetuated by bad growers

For some clarification, a plant is only ever considered dead once all vascular motion has fully ceased. Until then it is still classed as alive. As long as some degree of vascular motion remains, a plant can recover from some impressively severe injuries. But for any injury too serious to...

200w cfl. Thinking of switching to 150w hps

That does sound interesting dude - would love to know how it ends up performing. Certainly, 40% lumen increase for no extra power cost sounds damn cool!

Soil Is really acidic need help

And with regards actual problem, i never suffered that so cant give u definitive answer, only my guesstimation, tho I think u likely eliminated water as source of problem. Having same soil work well for 2 people last year & now fail for 2 people this year is enough to tell me it probably fcuked...

Soil Is really acidic need help

I agree, if ur being careful & logical when growing in soil then there should be no need to measure pH. It starts off & stays stable & predictable for longer in soil, so no need for measuring pH unless ur blindly overdoing everything & tanking the soil. Maybe if u were doing big, man-size...

    Seedling help

Lol! Just seen little baby seedling pic - looks coolio dude! Stem looks thick in comparison to leaf size and nice small, hairy purplish colour stem. Bit young to tell that much obviously but looks cool! And I like ur description of ur set- up too - sounds like u got it all covered well & running...

    Seedling help

After reading ur description of ur seedlings, I'd say that yeah you need to plant sprouting seed a bit deeper in soil - about 1 inch down with seed case fully covered, tap root facing down if poss. Also, since u papertowelling, u could always let a longer 1 inch taproot grow out before...

    What is this?

For my 2 cents, my first thought was also chlorine/ other contaminant in your water - if ur not doing so already then run your water thru a filter jug and then leave that filtered water to sit & evaporate for at least 24 or 36 hours. If u are doing this already then it likely aint chlorine.

    Week five with red hairs???

Most camera's should have an option within settings to turn off what is usually called "location tagging" and this should stop pics being GPS tagged. If you can't find it then see if there is an option to just turn GPS off instead, as it will deny it the location tool it needs and stop tagging...

Does anyone add extra perlite, etc to branded soil mixes, as standard practice?

That's cool cheers guys - it will be my new standard practice from now on then! I think the other trouble was that I often shake up bigger bags to mix it up, but the lighter, bigger perlite grains then seem to migrate upwards so by the time u get to using the bottom of the bag there's less...

Does anyone add extra perlite, etc to branded soil mixes, as standard practice?

That's cool cheers dude - I'm starting to think I should do. I am also inspired by the self made soil mixes I've read on here, but i live in a flat in a tower block and I barely got clean & useable space for potting up outta 1 bag, let alone mixing loadsa bags in a drum! Though when I'm in...

Does anyone add extra perlite, etc to branded soil mixes, as standard practice?

As title says, I'm just wondering if many indoor growers who buy brand name/pre-made soil mixes ever add extra perlite/pebbles, etc for drainage? Ive always used Biobizz Allmix, as happy with results, but have started thinking recently I wouldn't mind it draining/drying abit quicker, plus since...

    over grow?

No, by the very fact there is a ripening process, the flowers will decline & die once they pass their peak. Think about what plants/trees do u ever see round gardens/ country that are in flower all year round? When that is for ur plants can be totally variable, and usually best confirmed thru...

White Widow Small cabinet grow problems

Firstly I gotta say that plant on the right looks perfectly gorgeous! Well healthy & bushy! So is bit odd how one on right is lagging behind so much - I'd certainly bet it likely hasn't rooted half as well as its sister. Not sure on reason why since they both been raised the same, possibly...

Should i stop smoking weed ?

I agree firstly with avoiding psycho-pharms as they should only be prescribed as one of the last, not one of the first solutions for any mental health issues. The trouble is that they help doctors to make patients go away quicker , plus they make alot of people a helluva lot of money, so of...
