2nd Grow - Exotic Genetics Citrus Berry, Organic, Mainlined, 300W CXB3590

Wow, I feel like it has been forever since I've updated my journal. We are on the verge of having our baby boy (currently 6 days past due date hehe) so time has been whirling by. My plants seem to be doing great. We are at 2.5 weeks into flower and I'm getting some really good development. They...

Which Chinese LED Are the Best? - Comparing Mars Hydro, Viparspectra, and Roleandro

Nobody said anything else is a waste of money, on the contrary I mentioned HID being a better option than cheap panels if his budget is capped and if he could squeeze a bit more out, check out the COB kits out there. In most other scenarios the feedback would have been welcome... It's like...

2nd Grow - Exotic Genetics Citrus Berry, Organic, Mainlined, 300W CXB3590

Plants are stretching and doing well. I gave them 1/4 tsp of jacks aquagold with a pinch of jacks citrus last watering. I'm pretty stoked, they seem to be filling up the space nicely. I can't wait for my updated lighting rig to go up, I just added 3 more CLU048s at 3K to serve as a bloom booster.

Loving how modular this gear is. I just got done adding the CLU048s @3K to my existing array (center row, notice the citizens are a tad smaller). Everything slotted in nicely, just waiting for lights-on to hang them.

Newbie experience with Timber Grow Lights & DIY

Just a quick update, I picked up an additional 150w 3 COB kit (3000k Citizen to act as a bloom booster) and wanted to post a pic of the engine because it looks like now they tap the sides off the heat sinks too which rocks. Notice the standard holes on the bottom but now there's an additional...

Which Chinese LED Are the Best? - Comparing Mars Hydro, Viparspectra, and Roleandro

Good shit man, I've heard great things about the 3070's. Not sure if it will help but here is a write up I did on my build. https://www.rollitup.org/t/newbie-experience-with-timber-grow-lights-diy.918881/ I think I mention it in the post but in case I didn't, I ended up running them bare with...

Which Chinese LED Are the Best? - Comparing Mars Hydro, Viparspectra, and Roleandro

Nah man, my point was pricing is such that a killer HID or COB setup can be had for a great price and if he has the skills to go full DIY, it's beyond me why someone would deal with those lists of cons when they dont have to, know what I mean?

Which Chinese LED Are the Best? - Comparing Mars Hydro, Viparspectra, and Roleandro

Just trying to prevent the inevitable man. You really think as he (or anyone) scales up down the road he's going to simply buy more panels? Show me a single legit opp where a fleet of vipars or mars are in play...

Which Chinese LED Are the Best? - Comparing Mars Hydro, Viparspectra, and Roleandro

If you can build a better one for half that, why in the world are you considering a throwaway panel? Thanks for the correction on the Cree vs Citizen, posting from phone and didn't double check the website. I too build PCs and personally would never throw a $10 heat sink and fan on any CPU/GPU...

Which Chinese LED Are the Best? - Comparing Mars Hydro, Viparspectra, and Roleandro

None of them make a whole lot of sense considering you can get a scalable 100W CXB3590 COB kit with a 5 year warranty (lifetime on driver) for $199 from timber. As the above poster mentioned, if you simply can't afford $200 bones you're better off going HID.

My little watering & anchoring invention...

Indeed. I did receive a quote for just over 9k though after that last post. I'll look into heat pressing, I'm in all new territory here so thanks for the tip man.

My little watering & anchoring invention...

Printing is $80 but that's a hookup, if you're familiar with the technology you'll notice that the ribs and lip aren't supported in a way that is conducive to 3D printing nor are the .45mm drain holes but I didn't want to have an entirely separate model for 3D printing knowing that it wasn't the...

My little watering & anchoring invention...

Holy shit injection molding is expensive. I figured it would be 3 or 4k for the mold and then a high per unit price until legit quantities were needed but we're talking 12k just to get into the game and that was the absolute lowest quote, the highest is well over 20k. Well, if anyone is...

2nd Grow - Exotic Genetics Citrus Berry, Organic, Mainlined, 300W CXB3590

I'm about 5 day into flower and things are going well. I think I'll give them a 1/4 tsp dose of jack's citrus next watering and then start slowly introducing jack's aquagold finisher. I defoliated them a bit after posting the previous update. I've got to get in there and separate the colas a bit...

My little watering & anchoring invention...

Yeah man the buildup is a concern but I've been testing with excess amounts of jack's in my test buckets and can't detect any buildup yet. The inner edges are rounded but without some type of dip there will be some very slight pooling. I think if it goes to production I'll incorporate some ever...
