Been a couple of months, any updates?

I've researched them, but have not used them. I think someone else here has, I remember seeing a thread. Maybe it was @VegasWinner, don't recall. Looks pretty, still need that dimming function though.

I think it will be cleaner with hydroton, but what do I know? I use cubes and hydroton in my RDWC. It's up to you.

How much oxygen are you adding to the water? Airstones, waterfall, etc.? What's the water temp?

The only reason I suggest "get a chiller" is that I spent months dicking around with dyi methods and warm res's. My plants didn't like. Got a chiller for both veg and flower rooms and the plants took off. Thick white roots and lush growth. It could be all the other things I do as well, O2, nutes...

Nope I didn't. To each their own. I set my temp to 68 and forget. Even when the room is at 85, the water still 68. But you go ahead and top off with cool water and your homemade cooler. Of course I chilling 240 gallons of water, how much are you?

Did you thoroughly wash your stones before using them? Kinda looks like stone dust. But it's hard to tell.

I had several good grows with them (1gpw), but then learned about cobs and sold all my Mars units. It was a learning experience, and I almost broke even on the resale. So all in all I'm not ashamed.

@ttystikk goes for the industrial size chillers for his production, if you want to get your feet wet you can buy a Active Aqua Chiller off Amazon. I have both the 1/2 and 1/4 HP. Use them for resivour cooling, not light, but they are awesome. Keeps my 250 gal RDWC flower system at 68 degrees...

I'm a hydro guy, so I have no experience with soil issues, but when I've seen the tips burning I will back off the nutes. That's usually the first indication, although it looks like something else is going on. What is the ppm/etc and ph of your nutes?
