He's in ffof soil and it's obviously depleted it's nitrogen and is in serious need of some food. Either that or your not keeping your pots at the right moisture level and aren't able to get the nutrients out of your soil. Ffof is only good for maybe a month of just water, and that time can vary...

Depends on medium I think, I don't think you can compare 1 gallon of coco to 1 gallon of living soil. I think 1 Oz/ Gallon in living soil would be average to above average and 1 Oz/ gallon in coco would be below average

I have some drippers but never used them, I heard they clogged sometimes and mine have worked great with 1 carrot per pot with just the one drip point so I never even bothered to try them out.

Ya also make sure it's set up and adjusted to the three drops before you put it in the straw. I think you want the other end of the straw as close to the middle of your plant as possible. You think it's possible the straw fills with roots and clogs?
