    One Top, No Train Method

Thanks for posting that comparative study, effexxess. Seems doing nothing is almost as good as some light defoliation and pruning. The difference is pretty negligible, though, it seems. Might as well just keep it as simple and easy as possible. One topping, some defoliation, and leave it at...

    One Top, No Train Method

Thanks, MtRainDog. I think back and it's funny how much topping and training is stressed in our hobby. It never occurred to me to just let them go and do what they want to do naturally. It's very educational, and lets you understand exactly what it is you're doing to them when you top and train...

    One Top, No Train Method

I've been growing for about ten years now and I have always kept my plants in flower for weeks upon weeks, topping multiple times and LSTing my girls to make an even canopy and get as many tops as possible. But recently I have been experimenting with various other methods and seeing just how...

Much better luck the simpler I make organic soils.

Simpler is better. I have extended that to topping and training as well. Used to, I would veg my plants for weeks and weeks, topping and training them. Now I just top them once at node 8 or 9 or 10, and toss them in flower. Very little training, and just defoliation once or twice when they get...

    Mystery strain: Mosca Dreamy

A few months back, I got some freebie seeds of something they had labeled as Dreamy. Turned out to be an excellent strain with nice floral and grape notes. Huge pink buds. Good calyx to leaf ratio. The whole nine yards. I tried to order more and no bueno. Can't find it anywhere. Tried to contact...

    My Polyploid Diesel-- Double Buds!

Was is smokable bud, and how was the yield?

    My Polyploid Diesel-- Double Buds!

Okay, now I'm getting confused. I'm seeing people refer to it as polyploid or polyploid with fasciation or just fasciation. The way I took it is that the extra chromosomes thing is called polyploidism and the altered bud structure is called fasciation. But the polyploidism is causing the fasciation.

    My Polyploid Diesel-- Double Buds!

I guess I'll update as it continues to flower so we have a record of polyploid behavior.

    My Polyploid Diesel-- Double Buds!

Yes, which leads to odd behaviors like self-topping plants, double and even triple buds, or wildly mutated bud structure. Did you do research or just look up the definition of polyploid? I did some research when I noticed the strangeness and there are all kinds of polyploid mutations. Really...

    My Polyploid Diesel-- Double Buds!

So I guess this diesel is a polyploid mutation. I noticed when it was in veg that it was topping itself. Every couple nodes, it would split into two branches without needing to be topped. Now that it's in flower, I've found that nearty every bud site is a double bud. Pretty cool, I think. I've...

Will Hunter Biden be charged and prosecuted?

You need to look up the term "cognitive dissonance". You complain about rule of law and then proclaim your allegiance to two indefensible lawbreakers. Trump is a traitor and Desantis is Trump's little wannabe Mini-Me. At least be honest about it. You don't care about the law. All you care about...

Will Hunter Biden be charged and prosecuted?

You guys are so horny to indict Hunter on something it is hilarious. Personally, I couldn't care less if they bring charges. He answered no on a form he maybe should have said yes to based on something that came up in an interview quite a while before he purchased the firearm. And he fucked up...

The quest for density in buds

My grow rooms tend to run on the warm side and never had issues with bud density. I've noticed that hot grow rooms made the plants stretch a lot more. Way back in the day when I first started growing I had a bunch of high-powered blurples and my room was like 102 degrees and my plants were over...

Can you post a link? I'd like to read through it.

The quest for density in buds

I'm glad we're actually discussing this. I think it's an important piece of the puzzle we've been missing. I brought the subject up on here years ago (I think it was this forum) and was told I was crazy and wrong. That UV and IR were not important, and contributed nothing to cannabis growth...

The quest for density in buds

What's the point you're trying to make related to cannabis production? It's an interesting study but it's just about old metal halide lamps and the spectrum they put out. Did you grow those blueberry exclusively with the metal halide? I would love to stick a couple MH lamps in my grow room just...

The quest for density in buds

I'd suggest you do a little research, Ismann, because your info is somewhere around 5 years old, at least. And I just cannot bring myself to believe you tried UV-A and didn't notice anything. My own results with UV-A and IR are so profound I just can't comprehend someone else not having similar...

The quest for density in buds

Yeah, that is most likely the key to your "beginners luck". Growing weed is both hard and the easiest thing in the world. It mostly just depends on how you approach it mentally. Most people cause their own problems by trying too hard, loving their plants too much, or just generally being dumb...

The quest for density in buds

You guys dance all around it without actually hitting the mark. Yes, it's the light, but it's not the intensity (although that matters) and it's not CO2 (although that helps, too). It's the spectrum. Sunlight ranges from UV-b all the way to infrared. Most modern LED grow lights go from blue to...
