This was my first topping. Keep in mind I was "mainlining" the plant... that is why I stripped all the growth under the topping.

I don't know much about nutrients, so I'll let those who know answer that. As far as your plan for vegging the larger plant while the others catch up is what I did for my last grow too. It worked out fine. I did mainline the plants so they took a little longer to veg than just letting it go...

I am a new grower. Did Mainlining for my last grow. If you can top you can Mainline.
