I concur with the others that you're not dealing with fungus or anything else... Keeping EC and pH within a very narrow range, or no changes, between readings other than nutrient level is the goal... What strain are you growing...??? Autoflowers like lower EC's...

I usually run 4 - 24 oz pots (plastic honey buckets) in my 2'x2'x4' LED grow box but have run up to 6 - 2.5 qt buckets, using HPS, in the past... Pot size does help control overall plant height...
