Couple of things... 1 400w mh/hps will cover approx. 16 sq.ft. Wick system less maint., can go fishing. You learn how much she takes. No worry about pumps. You can grow 1-2 big plants.... or 8-10 small & have a crop every 4...

OUTSTANDING..!!!! They worked for me 30 years ago when I had no idea what I was doing, and they still work for me now........ Still don't know what I'm doin'...... But I Do have an idea or two now.

Just an update, if anyone reads this old thread..... After further studies, changed up a bit... stole OhsoGreens' soilless reciepe. Sill using multiple 3/8 cotton rope for wicks. Last purchased seeds did not make it. Blame myself cuz never had prob with this Co. B4, but no idea what I did...

Keep it simple.. Small space, first time, 1 or 2 plants, (the most with 250wt.). Use wick system.... Run veg. @ 18hrs. Then change bulb & go to 12 or less. Read... Study... Experiment... Learn the rest.......... That's what I'm doing. Show that and these people will be there to help...

Moving the light away will just make the stem weaker. move light closer-keeping an eye out on temps, and cut to 18 hrs. And you do have ph control. First your water/nuets. Then you can always check your soil. *** sorry... I'm baked and did not realize I was looking at an older post.....

Yellerz is right. Need more info, but from the hip....... You need more light (watts/or closer) and it would help to know 'bout soil makeup. I am willing to bet she is lacking nurtrients needed for veg. state. But you need to tell us more.

I am new to hydro, short on money..... but smart. (i hope).... As I change from soil growing to hydro, I plan on using my current soil mix- potting/gravel/coconut fiber-- with multiple wicks @ 1/3 soil depth. Thinking I can adjust # of wicks for best results. Do you think I can get away with...

I am trying the same thing. I use coconut fiber. gravel and potting soil normally. Want to try Hydro, so as I change over i'm experimenting. In my pots I have 4 or more 3/8 wicks in place. I can adjust how much the girls get. Later I will go soil free.
