Please help me understand why LM301H EVO is better than LM301B

You would have done that with citizen, lumileds or any COB of that time too. In fact, lumileds were and are more efficient than Cree. I'm not saying cree doesn't grow bud, I'm saying their pricing has not been feasible compared to Osram in their mono lineup, and I'm not buying the fact that we...

    New red diodes from cree

Cree's monos are too expensive and they will have to come down significantly in price to be feasible in consumer grow-lighting.

    New red diodes from cree

Yep, the cree xpg line is pricey. Exactly right about HP-white efficiency, I've been saying that for a while now... HP diodes allow for feasible optics as well. They use them in commercial lighting as a green filler between mono red and blue for a more balanced spectrum. Personally, I'd like to...

    New red diodes from cree

What is the cost per reel? Findings from this year’s “State of the Cannabis Lighting Market” report echo those insights. When asked what factor was most important to them in opting for LEDs, 42% of study participants cited “crop quality.” Plus, nearly half of respondents reported average...

Please help me understand why LM301H EVO is better than LM301B

I have not yet seen any major convincing arguments for using H EVO over H. There may be a slight better pest control with H EVO, but still haven't seen any convincing arguments. People claim higher cannabinoids, still no convincing arguments. The Evo is slightly more efficient. TBH unless you...

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

I'm not dogging... I'm just saying that if you are going to grow in an open space, you will always need more diodes vs less more efficient diodes.

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

This must have been before the evolution to the EVO diodes: They have their absolute maximum rating a 180mA, vs 200mA for Samsung. imo. mid-power is not really suited for commercial type grow-lighting and never really was inteded for it. It works well in grow tents with reflective walls. If...

380 diodes per bar + epistar or 320 diodes + osram?

450 and 660... Usually these diodes have a variance in peak spectrum based on binning.. so you'll hardly get 100% 660nm out of a 660nm diode. But it will be in that ballpark.

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

I'm not familiar with Nichia, but I heard they are proud of their diodes and the cost reflects it too. They might be better 1-1, but right now you have so many other high efficiency white LED's on the market that you will win with any of them really... Most manufacturers have lm-80 reports...

380 diodes per bar + epistar or 320 diodes + osram?

Yeah, I agree on that.Think about it, HPS was 5% blue. But you'll want between 12-15% blue for veg in a full cycle spectrum. If you're growing strictly short indicas, you could probably go even less blue. If you want a strictly flowering spectrum, I'd shoot for 6-10% blue.

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

If you want top diodes, you'll have to pay for them... The 301B's aren't much better than a lot of the other diodes on the market tbh... There was a change in performance with those diodes after they upgraded the casing to EVO lines. They were very quiet about this but I think there were some...

Mammoth mint white emerald green 880w

Well yeah generally, the royal blue and deep red diodes today put those bulb diodes to shame... Plus you can shades of blue and shades of red today, and even a cunthair or white in there to just to even it out...green is getting better too. The only argument for using green (at least the way I...

Mammoth mint white emerald green 880w

You're right, and the blurple today isn't what it used to be, it's much better. Wider spectrum choices in both red and blue, along with white to serve as green.
