Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Thanks mate. I’ll take another look at my setup. Hard when I don’t have the exact same gear it does only rise a couple of RH% in cure but once the dehumidifier kicks in it goes way up. I think my fridge isn’t kicking in straight away. Or the dehumidifier is rubbish. I’ll try import the one...

different humidifier is also a good option. I feel like it goes too hard . Maybe cause I removed the resistors the fan is running too high? I thought they may have just been for the leds

I am in Australia so purchased a different fridge and dehumidifier but they look very similar. it doesn’t look frozen when it happens. But the fridge just doesn’t kick in which allows the dehumidifier to run for too long heating it up. Not always but sometimes I have to power cycle the fridge...

I just pulled the whole fridge apart trying to find the temp sensor and I couldn’t. I feel the spot it’s supposed to be is sealed over. Might explain why it feels the fridge just doesn’t kick in unless I power cycle it sometimes. It does cool down and display the correct temp but it might just...

I have had to stop using my wine fridge due to some massive temp fluctuations. Reading through all these posts it sounds like it may just be the gear i purchased so thought i would ask the question. I seem to be getting massive spikes in humidity when the dehum kicks in which pushes my temps...

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like your fan blows towards the fins which is how mine originally was. instead of using a sponge has anyone tried a couple of boveda packs in the fridge? It would keep it more stable than a sponge I would think

It would be great to know which way everyone’s else’s fan is blowing. Can you feel it blowing towards the door of the fridge or up towards the fridge fan at the top thanks

yeah mine blows up. Insides look the same. Fins at the back point down into the drip tray. Fan on the front blows toward the dehumidifier which forces air up. I’ll reverse the fan to blow away towards the door My fan faces the door but doesn’t blow air towards it

I do need to breathe . Thanks I think because the fan blows up towards the fridge sensor it pushes the temp up. Might not be the real temp in the fridge. My dehumidifier blows up which is where the fridge and inkbird sensors are. Which may be messing with settings. I have a feeling other’s...

Thinking about this more and I think dehumidifier blowing up is bad. The inkbird sensor will fight against the dehumidifier which is why it takes ages for it to pull down the rh, and then when the dehumidifier switches off the real rh is actually way lower which is why mine drops so much. will...

Couple more questions. I have been trying to dry direct in the fridge (no hanging) for about 2 days. Buds feel very light already and I have emptied a lot of water. I feel like it might be drying too fast. I have my inkbird at 72% with a 1% diff but it will go up to 80% when the dehum kicks in...

I have another question if anyone is able to help. The room I have the fridge in has fluctuating temps depending one time of day. This would affect the temp that the fridge can run at. if I get my buds to 58% steady RH but the fridge is trying to get to 55f still, wouldn’t that dry the buds...

I also had a dehumidifier that had an internal AC to DC converter. I just mounted it on the back of the fridge with some computer motherboard standoffs and removed all the unnecessary power switches etc

Hi all, I’ve just started giving this a go and it’s my first grow/dry ever. Are the buds supposed to feel wet and spongy after a couple days drying in the fridge? they were firm and stinky going in. Only been a few days but want to make sure this is normal 55f/68% at the moment but I haven’t...
