    Did I overwater?

watering job done. thanks to all who contributed with extra kudos to wetdog. hopefully the plants will adjust accordingly. this also made my humidity shoot up which is a good thing since I was averaging 20-30% with the dry soil. will report back with results later.

cn, is the idea to leave the cap on for a while and then open it little by little over time once there is humidity buildup?

    Did I overwater?

Yeah Wetdog, your assessment is spot on, I think. I did only water the portion of the soil surrounding the plant. I did not wet the mix, either, do'h. Oh well, here's to being a newb. So the plan is to saturate the entire soil, then. Any other opinions on this before I go through with it?

    Did I overwater?

I got these clones 3 days ago and watered them only a little more than a cup each as soon as I put them in their new mediums. Three days later, the soil is still somewhat moist (as you can see in the picture) and the leaves look a bit droopy. Is this cause for concern and how often/how much...

Grow box - pots or bins?

well, I'm planning on growing more horizontally than vertically with the help of LST and will probably veg for only a month or less so it won't grow as big. @ scroglodyteL: I mentioned they'd be lightproofed. Still no good? any other comments on bins and my lack of vert space?

Grow box - pots or bins?

hey guys, I'm about to get two female clones that I'll be placing in my 39"x15"x26" (l, w, h) box. I've got two 15 liter (roughly 4 gal) plastic bins (lightproofed), something like this: Would it be a good idea to do a soil grow in these bins since they would save me a lot of space...

120mm pc fan to ac/dc, running slow

the exact model of the adapter also, I hooked the fan up to my pc and it gave me the same RPM as with the adapter. what is going on? is it maybe set to run at low RPM by default? I thought speed was determined by voltage (the adapter itself allows you to change volts, 3-12, and was giving me...

120mm pc fan to ac/dc, running slow

all my old chargers are 5V which isn't enough to give me decent airflow... I really don't want to buy a power supply to run a single fan. what can I do???

120mm pc fan to ac/dc, running slow

so I've been reading and it appears that pc case fans require dc power. now mind you I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff, but is there any chance my ac-dc adapter is somehow incompatible with the fan? In other words, do I need a dc (only) adapter instead of ac-dc or does it not make...

120mm pc fan to ac/dc, running slow

sorry, forgot to mention that it's supposed to run at 103 CFM @ 2000RPM. defective unit perhaps? how to test? @ tip top: it's an adapter, not a converter. fail on my part. looks something like this

120mm pc fan to ac/dc, running slow

So I have a 120mm pc fan with the following specs: Voltage(V): 12 Current(A): 0.32 Power(W): 3.84 hooked up to a AC/DC converter with 12V, .500 A, and I'm getting very low RPMs from the fan. For some reason it's not getting enough juice, or maybe it's something else. Tried two different...

case fan CFM question (carbon filter)

120mm case fan (110CFM) the thing is at 100CFM even these fans tend to get pretty loud, I'm not so worried about airflow as much as noise (stealth grow). So basically I'm looking for the least CFM I can get away with to have proper ventilation and maintain noise control.

case fan CFM question (carbon filter)

what would be the minimum recommended CFM for a computer case fan required to efficiently move air in conjunction with a DIY carbon filter in a grow box that barely measures 9 cubic feet? (39" x 15" x 26"; 2 plants under 3x 85w CFL, passive intake). Ive heard that case fans need at least 100 CFM...
