I am 6.5 weeks into my budding (white widow) but it dont smell at all unless i squez the bud. i am guessing this will effect potency and taste. what can i do?

i have noticed more leaf growth since this happend, it was only 1 day, what id like to know is... if i cut away the leaf is it good for the bud.? also does it prolong the harvest time?
