Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I don't think the caters will travel from one plant to the other unless their touching. At this point you will need to check your plants daily. The caterpillars can be small and brownish grey, up to the big green ones. Look for damage then follow it to the worm, which is most likely buried in...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

NEMATODES!!!!!!! I've had budworm problems for the past few seasons. We put nematodes in our garden this past fall. I've still not seen even one caterpillar (budworm). My neighbor still has budworms this season but we don't. However, I have seen some little brown moths, I'm sure from the...

Anyone from CA ever get bad genetics from the club? How about this idea.

Interesting idea. I would have liked checking out the final product before purchase. Maybe the conditions it's grown under may make a big enough difference that this wouldn't be a valid comparison? I do know that I e-mailed Harborside in Oakland about my seeds, both good and bad info. I...

    Kali Brains?

I don't know the flowering times but mine are going good. Actually, I don't remember anything the catalog said about these seeds. I do know my two are doing awesome. They might be my favorite strain this season. Big and bushy with giant spears coming from the top. One of the plants is over...

I think when they say it can be used up until harvest, they're expecting you to wash the fruits before eating. If it's that close to harvest, IMO your only option is to check the plants daily and pick the caterpillars (budworms) off and remove any damage to the bud.

    Grandma Gudenhi's Cali. Garden w/PICS

This G13/Hash Plant is about two foot taller the the other two G13/HPs and most of the other plants. I don't know why it got so big (or the others stayed so short?). Skunk/IBL This pic is from about 2 1/2 weeks after it got it's "two hairs". I don't know when they consider the start of...

    answers to my noob questions?????

Exactly right. Refer to the drawing posted by Kaleo. Those two petioles (leaf stems) are the stems of a leaf. The internodes (where the caylx is) will eventually start growing bunches of caylxes all grouped together. That's your bud. Those two hairs coming out of the calyx are for...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I still haven't seen any budworms and only one moth (came from the neighbor's garden). I think my nematodes and lacewings may actually do the job. I'm still keeping a daily watch just incase. FUNNY STORY: My niece is such a noob. lol (so cute). She has her first outdoor grow this season. As I...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I still haven't seen any budworms (caterpillars) yet this season. I did have budworms the past three seasons so I used some nematodes this past fall. Maybe it's working? There was quite a few pupae in the soil last year and practically none this year. My neighbor said he's seen a few worms...

The 12/12 From Seed Club, Show off Your Girls

This is a great thread. Very informative. I grow outdoors and normally wouldn't be in this section except that I spotted a pic that lead me here. I live in Cali and belong to a medicinal cannabis compassion group. Patients are always looking for was to become self sufficient. 12/12 from...

    Grandma Gudenhi's Cali. Garden w/PICS

lol, thanks. As I watch my plants grow, the ones that used to be mothers (topped alot) are definately growing different. One is quite a bit bushier. The other is way thick but only like 3' tall. PIC UPDATES: This is our tallest of 2 Kali Brains. My b/f is holding a 4' level in the pic. If you...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

My problem is I don't like to put anything on my plants that may effect the final product. When I smoke bud grown by other people and it makes my tongue tingle. Even safer soap makes bud taste like crap. I guess I've been smoking my clean organic bud for so long that I've become super...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Here is the pic from the link http://www.infonet-biovision.org/print/ct/76/pests . It looks like most of the options are from the Helicoverpa (heliothis) genus. I figure find a pheromone trap for those kinds of moths and it should cover it all? I guess? The web site describes each individual phase.

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I found a good life cycle pic of the African Bollworm aka Heliothis (Helicoverpa) armigera. It says they're in Africa but I also seen another web site that said they were a problem in the cotton in the US. Take a look and see if it's it. It's not the moth I thought it was, but then I think...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Do you know the name of them? Preferably the scientific name. I'd like to find a pic and read what there is to say about them. I haven't seen any moths like those in my garden. Mine just look very small and light brownish, but I haven't been able to catch one and look closely.

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I've tried to research this online and it's not easy. Here's what I've found: There's a caterpillar called a Hemp Borer (Grapholita delineana) that appears to be the culprit. They are also called hemp leaf rollers and hemp seed eaters. The damage they do mostly fits the description given...

    average yield for outdoor plants

If those are 6'-7' tall, I think you should easily get two pounds each, even though they are crowded. You may even have a 3.5 pounder in there, or more. I'm sure you will be harvesting in stages (tops, middles, bottoms). Leave the bottoms growing for an extra few weeks to fatten them up...

Spider mites, White Fly & Alcohol

Alcohol? THC is soluble in alcohol. Doesn't spraying with alcohol wash away some THC? I've known people that use ladybugs. The mites are wiped out in a day or two. I think you have to protect the light or something because they fly into it.
