150 watt hps grow with Northen Lights 7 WEEKS

Hey man, I've never heard of the pinching strategy...that's pretty interesting. I would expect pinching the stem would cut off the flow of xylem and phloem throughout the plant right? I'm sure if you "crack" the main stem you notice some growth retardation for a period correct? How long does...

    Autoflowering problem!

Hey hornet, I bought some auto LR2xAK-47 Femmed seeds from Joint Doc's about 3 months ago. I've only sprouted one, and it did really well, up until now that is ...day 53. I've seen other journals with guys growing them as well recently, and they seem fine. It could be that everyone who has...

Hey Zoikes, I'm new to growing and am currently having a plant problem as well, so take what I say with a grain of salt. When my seedling first started out it looked like yours with some twisty leaves. For me it was a pH problem. I didn't realize it but the pH of the tap water I was using...

    Got kicked to the shed.

Have you thought about replacing 2 or 3 CFLs with just old fashioned incandescent bulbs? They put out quite a bit of heat and the same amount of light as a CFL.

    Advantage V. disadvantage CFL's

That's what I was hoping to hear. Currently I have six 23 watters in rubbermaid bins, and even with my fans running full blast the temps are running at about 85F. I'd like to add more lumens, but I can't afford to let the temps get any higher. So maybe 4 42 watt bulbs would be a better option...

    Advantage V. disadvantage CFL's

Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Does anyone know if the higher wattage CFLs put out proportionately more heat than their smaller counterparts? For example, would one 43 watt cfl put out nearly 2x heat as say a 23 watt?
