How come everywhere I ask they say to do a guerrilla grow? Wouldn't that be worse in possibly getting me caught by the cops?

So I'm contemplating growing. I'm tired of wasting money and the risky business with dealers. I'm 18, last year of high school, and this summer I have practically nothing to do, already accepted into the college I wanted so yeah....still living with parents though. I've read up on just about...
