well to answer your questions. yes you can use different strains in the same system. And yes I would use both lights. I would suggest to you to get a hps bulb for you mh when you decide to flower. Go on a 18/6 light timer for veg and 12/12 for flowering

i mean this is my first grow so im not an expert but you should prob invest in a HPS. you can load up on cfls but you might as well just get a HPS
